Mineral Play 1894
Subject
Odd Fellow's Hall
Description
This is a flier for a night of entertainment at Odd Fellow's Hall in Mineral. There was to be a band playing and the play "Childhood," consisting of two acts of charades. Admission was charged at twenty five cents for adults and fifteen cents for children twelve and under. Entertainment, such as this event, was common around the Mineral mines. With their entire lives centered around the mines, entertainment such as plays likely occurred in order to socialize after working hours. On Christmas Eve, this play would have added holiday spirit to the rowdy mining environment.
