Jeanes not for buildings
Subject
Securing funds for a new school in 1923
Description
Mr. G. W. Hayden

Dear Mr. Hayden:
I have read your letter, and also the one you addressed to Mr. Gresham. I should certainly be glad to know you have the help you need, but neither of the Funds of which I have charge authorize now contributions towards building. The Jeanes Fund formerly aided occasionally in this way, but since the Rosenwald Fund was established we have thought better to use our money in other directions. As you must know, the demands upon us in all ways are very great.
Very truly,
James H Dillard
