Virginia. In Louisa County Court Clerks Office August 7.th 1833
Mary Daughter of Lucy Langston, emancipated by Ralph Quarles, this day made application in the said office to be registered according to Law. It is therefore certified to all whom it may concern, that the said Mary is a tollerably bright mulatto, four feet eleven inches high, has a bushy head of hair, a small scar on the back of the right wrist occasioned by a burn, which may not endure, high cheek bones & high forehead, good countenance, about twenty four years and four months old no other apparent mark or scar deemed worthy of notice.
