State of Virginia. Louisa County Court Clerks Office November the 12.th 1833. Charles Austin, a negro man Manumitted by the Rev.d William Graceford, this day made application in the said office to be registered according to the act of the General assembly of Virginia in that case made and provided. It is therefore certified to all whom it may concern that the said Charles Austin is a black man about five feet ten inches & an half high about Sixty years of age, a black Smith by trade inclined to be bald, lank jaws, a scar on each eye brow, the scar on the right, the largest no other mark or scar deemed worthy of notice.
