Description
This is a letter from Patrick Henry to the Court of Louisa, during his term as governor. He is warning the court of the abuse of Revolutionary War pensions. Veterans and their family members were entitled to land grants out west. However, often those entitled to grants were encouraged to obtain them by speculators who bought them from the owners at a fraction of its value. This was one of the early examples of government abuse.
