Description
The Assistant Assessor for the County of Louisa visited the farm of Mr. Robert Harris and, not finding anyone to answer certain questions, left this note in which he asked Robert Harris to send answers to the home of Mr. Overton Harris, as he (the assessor) would be there on the next day. The note reads:
Sir, You will please to deliver me alist of your dwelling house, the out houses, appurtenant thereto, their dimensions, number and size of the windows, etc. The out houses belonging to your farm, etc. also the quantity of land and number of slaves in your possession on 1st day of October last within ten days from the date hereof.
March 26th, 1799
I am sir you mo. Obt,
Samuel O. Pettus, Asst. Assessor II D.
